Halo Wars 2 Banished Controller by PDP (Xbox One) Review

Performance Designed Products recently released a Halo Wars 2 Banished themed Xbox One Controller and we at Infinite Reviews put it to the test by playing several games, taking an in depth look at the design, getting all touchy, feely to see how it felt in our hands and then check the reach it gets due to the limitation of the wired feature.

All of this was a factor in our decision of rating the controller and whether or not we are recommending the Xbox One Controller to the public.

It was a fun day in the Infinite Reviews House when we first received the Halo Wars 2 PDP Controller and we put it right to the test. The first thing being tested was the length of the controller cable as this is a wired controller. It gets 10 feet which is a long reach for a wired controller but in my living room this still meant not being able to sit on the other end of the room on my recliner. The reach was still more than enough to sit and enjoy with ease on the side of my room which also has a couch situated in that space.

Plugging in the Halo Wars 2 PDP Controller into a laptop and desktop were next on the list and everything worked fantastically with my Windows version of Quantum Break. I'm more of a console gamer so after I played a bit on Windows I switched it up and plugged in my new PDP controller into the Xbox One and began playing away with Lego Dimensions followed by Halo Wars, which was fitting with the face plate on the controller I was using.

The last type of test I wanted to try was the feel and resistance while playing a button mashing type of game like Killer Instinct. While playing Killer Instinct, Infinite Reviews filmed the action to show that this was the best type of action for the Halo Wars 2 Banished Controller due to the great solid and smooth feel of the back of the controller. It was easy to maneuver and to hold. My hands didn't cramp up trying to pull off combos and I even was able to pull off moves I have never pulled off with such ease.

As you can see in the video below posted below by Kouli Kollector on YouTube, we tested out two Xbox One/Windows controllers from Performance Designed Products with the Halo Wars 2 and Afterglow versions on Killer Instinct.

The PDP Controller comes with dual multi-function wheels with six programmable actions to customize at your discretion. Play around with it and see what works best for your style of gaming.

The Halo Wars 2 Banished Controller is highly recommended by us at Infinite Reviews especially for use with a fighting game. The controller is available through PDP for $49.99 USD but act quick as this is a limited release and there are only 5000 available.
