Toronto Maple Leafs Eliminated from the Playoffs


The Toronto Maple Leafs took the Washington Capitals to six games in their first round match up but the story doesn't end there. The Leafs and Capitals also played a series that was a lot closer than anyone really expected.

With the Presidents Trophy Winners against the Number 2 Wild Card team to face each other before game 1, experts and fans pegged the Leafs to go down in 4 or 5 games. In a surprising turn of events the Leafs went to Over Time in Game 1 and lost that game but it was the start of what fans believed as a great series and a series that we never expected.

Five out of the six games went to Over Time and each of the six games was separated by a single goal difference.

It is a tremendous way for the Rookies on the Leafs team to gain this type of experience for the future seasons.
