A Storm of Bullets

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is back and revamped for its revival on the Next Gen Systems with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Bulletstorm was first released back in 2011 and we originally played it on Xbox 360. This time around the game looks great. It's been polished up and looks incredible on the Xbox One.

Bulletstorm is an unconventional first person shooter with comedy, unrealistic shootouts and a ton of gore. It was fun the first time around and this time its no different. For those new to this game, its a mix between Doom, Gears of War and Sunset Overdrive.

Your role in Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is the reckless, know everything leader of Dead Echo, Grayson Hunt. He is part of a team whose job is to follow all orders from General Sarrano. Everything turns to a complete mess as your whole role was a scam and you were killing innocent people in order for General Sarrano to increase his power.

Grayson and his team from that point forward set out as pirates against Sarrano and his forces. Ten years later we start our adventure as Sarrano's ship appears out of nowhere and finds Grayson and his crew. The crew and Sarrano's ship crash land on the planet Stygia and there is no way to escape.

Without revealing too much more of the story and spoiling this remake, you realize right away that Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a first person shooting spectacle with guns blazing, bullets flying and a few occasional drop kicks to spikes.

Gameplay/Controls

With the title of the game being Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, you cannot get by without the use of a series of guns and weapons in your arsenal. The game works off of a skill based points system and as you progress through the levels with various kill tactics, environmental elements, style and weapon usage. The cooler the kill, the more points you will boost.

Controls are pretty simple and easy to get a hold of as with any shooter game, you have your gun trigger, your melee (kick) attack, your sprint, your crouching and your special button attacks and there is a build up through the prologue and first part of the campaign to get comfortable with these controls.

Extra Content

Once you run through the campaign, players of the new version of Bulletstorm are greeted with fresh dialogue, and the King of First Person Shooters story adventures, with the addition of the Duke Nukem Bulletstorm Tour campaign.

It's called The Duke Nukem Bulletstorm Tour and the new extra content sees Grayson Hunt swapped out for Duke, giving Duke Nukem a new opportunity to kick butt and chew gum. Duke has had fully re-written lines and all  lines are voiced by the original voice of Duke to ensure this new content fits just right.

The return of Echoes sees the light of day again in Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition. Echoes gives the players small areas of the familiarity of terrain with many enemies to perform the best skill shots possible and all of it is in order to gain the highest score. This feature is best for those competitive by nature as you try to skill shot your way to beating your friends and claiming top throne with top score.

Talking about friends, we move into multiplayer within Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, which is the final feature and extra content within the People Can Fly title. Four players can join together in similar echo-style maps to face waves of enemies, and the goal is to reach an establish score in order to progress through the levels.

Conclusion

The first time around Bulletstorm may have slip by the cracks of first person shooter fans but with the incredible revamp given to this remaster, and the fun that is had throughout, makes this Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition a game that should be enjoyed by all action fans and anyone who enjoys a different type of story or gameplay. Original players of the game will be pleased with the extra fresh content being provided and the unique style should greet newbies to enjoy. Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition should get an ultimate chance to shine for all.
